Assistant Underwriting Manager

Responsibility

• Supervise a team of underwriters in underwriting both medical & non-medical cases according to the Company's guidelines
• Assist to monitor the underwriting quality and quantity performance standards
• Assist to review and update the underwriting guidelines and procedures from time to time so as to ensure they are competitive and of quality standard
• Liaise and negotiate with re-insurers on facultative cases
• Establish and develop training plans and materials for underwriters
• Handle appeal cases from agents
• Participate in the product development cycle in giving comments and advice from the underwriting perspective
• Assist to lead on different projects as required

Requirement

• University graduate with strong analytical skills and medical knowledge, with at least 6-year underwriting experience of which 3 years or more at supervisory level
• Possess at least 4 years of moderate substandard underwriting authority
• With experience in handling jumbo cases would be an advantage
• Possess Insurance Professional Qualification
• Handle inquires in a responsive manner and capable to meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese
